Scholarship remains crucial, focusing on providing access to culturally relevant lifelong learning educational resources that address the specific barriers and disparities faced by young Black men in Chicagoland. This includes guidance on navigating life choices and career pathways.
Year 1
Implement foundational academic support programs focused on literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills.
Offer workshops and activities to introduce TTF Scholars to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts and encourage curiosity and exploration.
Year 2
Expand academic support programs to include more advanced topics and subject areas tailored to TTF Scholars' interests and learning needs.
Incorporate project-based learning activities to deepen TTF Scholars' understanding of academic concepts and foster creativity and critical thinking skills.
Year 3
Provide TTF Scholars with opportunities for advanced learning and enrichment through specialized workshops, seminars, and projects aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations.
Offer support and resources for TTF Scholars transitioning to middle school or higher grade levels, including academic counseling, study skills workshops, and peer mentoring.
